Besides it has beautiful appearance, it also good to eat. Broccoli Latin name is Brassica Oleracea. This plant comes from Italy and now become loveable vegetables. Just like other vegetables, broccoli is rich of vitamin E, folic acid and vitamin C, folate, iron, fiber, potassium, and vitamin K. The special things about broccoli are the amount of vitamin C in it is greater than an orange. Furthermore, the calcium content of broccoli also greater than a glass of milk.

Here, some benefits of broccoli for your health.

1. Overcoming constipation
The fiber content in broccoli is needed to facilitate the digestive process.

2. Asthma
Some research has shown that children with asthma will less wheezing significantly, if they eat high rich vitamin C on fruits and vegetable. Because broccoli has lot of content of vitamin C, so you can count on broccoli for the food diet.

3. Alzheimer
Consuming broccoli on long period could avoid the occurrence of Alzheimer’s because it decreases the acetylcholine level on central nervous system.

4. Regulating blood sugar levels
Broccoli contains of chromium that can regulate blood sugar levels so that broccoli consumption is strongly recommended for diabetics.

Broccoli can be eaten raw or cooked. I recommend you to wash the broccoli before you eat it and better with running water, but don’t soak the broccoli because the active substances or nutrients can be dissolved in water. If you want to boil broccoli, put it on lightly salted water for about four minutes. Furthermore, to gain broccoli benefits you should not cook the broccoli too long, for example steam the broccoli for only 5 minutes (but the broccoli stalk for about 10 minutes) or cook on microwave on high temperature for five minutes.
