The name celery originally came from the Greek’s word “selinon” that referred to in “The Odyssey “by Homer. Since long time ago, celery has been used for many purposes like to cure some illness, to flavor some dishes, and to feed horses.

All of part of celery can be consumed raw or cooked. Celery is good vegetables because high in vitamin A, vitamin B6, vitamin C, vitamin K, folate, potassium, manganese, riboflavin, phosphorus, dietary fiber, pantothenic acid, magnesium, and calcium. So, no wonder some illness can be cured by consuming celery. The China traditional medicine uses celery to lower the high blood pressure. Other benefits from consuming this vegetable are to overcome chronic stomach pain, bladder infections and urinate problems. Thus, when you have trouble to urinate, simply eat the celery leaves because it acts as natural diuretic which can increase the speed of urine formation. Eating celery also helps to dump the toxic from your body. Moreover, celery will boost the immune and nervous systems.

After you know the benefit of eating celery, probably you don’t want to miss it on your dishes. But before eating celery, make sure you are not allergic to it. Moreover, pregnant mothers and people suffering kidney inflammation are not recommended to consume celery excessively, because it might cause contractions and other problems.
