Factors That Cause High Blood Pressure
Factors that you can not control
1. Heredity
If someone has parents or relatives who has high blood pressure, then it is likely the risk for him / her to suffered from high blood pressure is greater. 2. Age
Research shows that as age increases, a person’s blood pressure will rise. You can not expect that your blood pressure will be the same as young as you get older. But after all getting older is a process, so there will be many factors to interfere, and yes you can control them … Living in healthy lifestyle can help you to keep your blood pressure not to over the normal upper limit.
Factors that you can control
1. Salt
Salt can increase blood pressure rapidly in some people, especially for diabetics, people with mild hypertension, people with old age, and those who has black skin.
2. Cholesterol
Excess fat in your blood can cause cholesterol deposits in blood vessel walls. This can make blood vessels constrict and blood pressure consequently increases. Take control of your cholesterol level as early as possible.
3. Obesity / Overweight
People who weigh over 30 percent of ideal body weight, are more likely to suffer high blood pressure.
4. Stress
Stress and emotional conditions that are unstable can also trigger high blood pressure.
5. Smoking
Stop smoking now because it can increase your blood pressure dramatically. This habit may also increase the risk of diabetes, heart attack and stroke.
6. Caffeine
Caffeine found in coffee, tea or cola drinks can cause high blood pressure.

Lack of exercise can increase the risk of high blood pressure. Do sports regularly to lower your high blood pressure but do not do heavy exercise if you suffer from high blood pressure.
The best thing we can do to control high blood pressure is to follow / continue the healthy lifestyle. Although we can’t control the heredity and age factors but at least we can minimize the risk by controlling other factors that causes high blood pressure.
